PROJECT DETAIL

Our role focused on the curation and preparation of Vacay Co’s Palm House for its feature in the pages of Inside Out Magazine. We undertook a thoughtful transformation of this holiday retreat’s styling, integrating carefully chosen new elements to accentuate the Airbnb charm that the house is known for.

My living room is one of my favourite rooms in my home. It's filled with so many things that I love, including numerous vintage treasures I've hunted down and the record player that my family gave me. I listen to it most weekends to wind down. Many an hour has been spent here rearranging my shelves while singing and listening to my favourite records—simple pleasures! As life gets busy it is a good reminder to us to unplug. 🤍

Whether we're ready for it or not, we're hitting that season where our social media feeds start becoming filled with sales, 'buy this' messages, and a level of perfection that not many of us can live up to in our personal lives. For us business owners, now is a great time to stop and think about how we will contribute to that messaging over the coming months. We should consider what might bring value to our audience and build genuine connections, too. This week is the week I would have normally jumped

This week is the week I would have normally jumped in the car and headed to my local newsagents to grab this month’s issue of Inside Out magazine. But this week there isn’t one, due to the magazine closing down. Inside Out magazine was where I got my “big break” [as I like to call it] competing in their Search For A Stylist Competition. It was where I found my confidence as a new full time business owner. It’s where I got my first front cover. As far as I was concerned, the farmer’s daughter from Eudlo had hit the big time. Most importantly though, I got to learn from so many of the best people in the industry, @miadaminato @kateahassett @jono.fleming @clairelbradley_ @lexikentmann and many more. I am so grateful to all of my team that worked hard with me on those shoots, but also to all the home owners who allowed us into their homes. I know a lot of people will read this and think print is a dying media. However, I’d like to humbly disagree and hope for the best! Here’s what I hope and predict: Digital media is just heating up and I think there’s more to come in that area! I believe print will become more of an Indie media, that devoted readers will do anything to get their hands on a copy… purely so they can read unplugged and notification free. For now though, I say thank you @insideoutmag for everything. Thank you for promoting so many businesses like mine, and for the amazing job you did promoting Australian design.
