After years of working from a 3m x 3m room at the front of my house, we reached a point where we had outgrown this space, and it was time to move into a larger studio that will accommodate our growing team into the future.
Revealing our new space is a proud moment for me as I managed to do most of the work myself; with a bit of help from my 11-year-old son, some of his mates, and a tradie or two for the trickier jobs like installing down lights and air conditioning.

Almost everything you see here I was able to source second-hand, or it was repurposed from home.
It all started with a New Zealand-made antique table I found on Marketplace. This beautiful piece was really heavy and awkward to move, so the lovely couple who were selling it reduced the price and sold it to me for $50. Dad helped me pick it up with his ute and I had the first piece of the puzzle.
I kept trusting the process, carefully hunting for pieces that I looked at and loved, each one coming together to create the meaningful space we have today.
Mum found an amazing console table on the roadside, which I used some leftover deck oil on to restore it and it came up like new!
For a couple of months, I kept hunting through second-hand shops, markets, on Marketplace and on the side of the road and I went on to find more and more incredible pieces—from ceramics, vases, and ornaments to a vintage Persian rug, black leather office chairs, rush chairs and more.

What I love most is that while it is a designated workspace, it still feels like home.
What is even better is that our new studio is still located on my property, which means I can stroll to work in the morning while enjoying a bit of separation and a better work/life balance.
